ST. JOSEPH'S STUDENTS 'GIVE IT UP FOR TROCAIRE'
Students from St. Joseph's High School Crossmaglen presented a cheque for 400 recently to Trocaire. This was raised during a Lenten initiative organised by Mr. Mc Loughlin (Maths Teacher) where students had to give up something they enjoy. Students gave up things as varied as sweets, to playing the play station and received sponsorship for their sacrifice . Students had been informed of the work done by Trocaire through a talk organised by the R.E. department and were very willing to raise money. Trocaire representative Gemma Mc Court thanked the school for their efforts in supporting this charity and raising much needed funds that will make a difference to the lives of others.
4th Year pupils from St. Joseph's visited Parliament Buildings in Stormont. This trip was organised through the Learning for Life and Work department and forms part of their GCSE course. They were accompanied by LLW Head of Department Mrs. R. Burns and Miss C. Clarke. The visit included a tour of the Great Hall and Assembly Chamber, an interactive presentation by the Assembly Education Officer on the work of the Assembly & the MLA’s and an information and activity Pack. The day was extremely enjoyable and educational.
